Family First meant Dreams Second, until now...

I learned to be an employee in my first 15 years, but my first job was not what I had in mind. It was sales. I did not know about selling. I certainly had no desire to sell. What was I doing here?  They tried to teach me, but it was like a shark teaching a dolphin to be one of its own. It just wasn't natural. I had to learn to do it my way, and I did. I mean, it really worked. But I still didn't like the sales world.

So, I earned an MBA, and my mentors encouraged me to pursue a PhD. When they said I would have my summers free, they sold me a lie. LOL. But I still loved it because I found purpose in helping others grow. Guess what they asked me to teach?  Yep. That's right. SALES.  It was all good. I was able to blend my unique non-salesy way of selling that already worked for me and blend it with the corporate sales techniques found in the university textbooks.  I went on to teach it to university and MBA students for over a decade.

Soon, I was teaching my methods to existing entrepreneurs and helping them grow. Working with them, my dream of being an entrepreneur was rekindled. And I realized that entrepreneurs were regular people, like you and me. In fact, I found that introverted entrepreneurs were just as successful, if not more so, than extroverted ones.  This fueled me.  I could still do this.  So can you.

That guided me to spread the new word to everyone like me. To everyone who once had a dream but played the family hero by holding down a job for the paycheck. You can still do that, but you can also give your dream a try. Yes, it might be scary. Yes, your loved ones might be even more afraid. But you can do it. You can do it with others just like you for the support.

And that is why I started The Nice Guy Entrepreneur. I wanted to help people, just like me, to understand that they too can be a great success. Maybe to the world. But, also maybe just to their kids and spouse. In our later years, we get some of our time back, but it doesn't mean that we have to shut down. We can use this time to start something. And with the Nice Guy Entrepreneur, I am here to help you finish it.
